Jubileumssatsningar / Blueways, Greenways and Oases
21 January 2020

In 2018, this initiative focused on Kvilledalen and the creation of the Kvillestråket greenway (2016–2018). Facilities here include an outdoor gym, and a dance floor that was a result of consultation with young girls in the city – a group who are often overlooked when it comes to urban development. This initiative has given girls a chance to create somewhere for themselves and directly influence the urban space.

In 2023, the expansion of the park Färjenäsparken will be completed. The goal here is to create a spot for big events and to establish a forest environment for recreation and nature experiences. The forest will also contribute with its ecosystem services, which will make it possible for visitors to find shady spots or areas that are wind protected, for instance. Fun facts: in Färjenäsparken you can find ruins from the beginning of the 17th century, when the city was founded.

Vision

In 2021 Gothenburg have more connected blueways and greenways and areas that have direct access to water and nature. Along the pathways you can find lovely places to spend time.
