BoStad2021
The need for more housing is an issue that has been raised by many residents in connection with our 400-year anniversary. The goal of BoStad2021 was to find a new way of working that shortens the time from idea to completed homes and to build 7,000 homes in addition to the regular production. The project ran from 2014-2021.

The initiative was a trial of new forms of collaboration between the City of Gothenburg and 27 building companies that enabled us to build more homes faster. The City of Gothenburg has therefore set up a special organisation to implement BoStad2021 in parallel with existing urban development plans.
BoStad2021 ended on December 31, 2021. By then, 3,900 homes had become move-in ready. The homes that are not completed will be completed in 2022-2024.
