Gothenburg Tales aims to give people a stronger sense of belonging, identity and connectedness in Gothenburg – whether they have recently moved here or lived here for generations. A large number of personal stories have been collected to give insight into residents’ experiences and lives.
The interviewees were carefully chosen to reflect the diversity of people who live in the city today. The gathered material will be archived for the future and richly supplement the material that was collected for Gothenburg’s previous anniversary 100 years ago. The next phase of the project begins in 2019, as these recollections are processed and prepared for an exhibition. By presenting these stories, we can give voice to people who would otherwise not be heard in public discourse.
