Power to the Youth
Power to the youth is a young reference group for Gothenburg's 400th anniversary.
Power to the Youth was formed in 2014 for the created by and including Young People focus year. Their aim is that young people should have more influence and they are involved in the development of Gothenburg’s anniversary projects. The group works together to get young people’s needs met in Gothenburg, all the way to Gothenburg’s Anniversary Celebration 2023. The youth reference group is comprised of 10 members aged 18 to 24, from various districts of Gothenburg. The group is evolving in stages and the participants currently work in three working groups that focus on priority areas for Gothenburg’s 400th anniversary that they should have influence over. The three working groups work with Prototyp Göteborg, Communication and Gothenburg’s Anniversary Festival. Through this, they contribute to the City of Gothenburg’s goal of increasing young people’s influence and participation.
